one for good measure

I am sure that there will be many ‘lasts’ in the next few days, not the least of which will probably be a well documented ‘last trip to barros’. On short notice and with only a few days together, we had a ‘last family gathering’. Mary and Gordon came down, Mom arranged to surprise her little sister and we all had a great time together hanging out, enjoying the pool, shopping and Gordon even got some ‘coaching’ in for the snack-shack kid at the clubhouse. Here’s a few pics.

The ‘official’ move date is May 26 – we are now in full swing of packing. Thanks to Donna being here 2 full weeks to help, Jen doesn’t feel so overwhelmed.

What a GREAT Easter!

Even when you try to plan them, some days are never this good. The boys woke early, waited patiently and then were ‘released’ to enjoy the easter baskets that were waiting. Top prize this year from “THE BUNNY” were watches. Jen made cinnamon roles, I made coffee (of course). As a family we took some time to read from the book of John about the resurrection. Elias did an incredible job. Afterwards, Rich and I hit the trails north of the house to break in the brand new cycle — she is incredible. Same model as the old one but 3 years newer with an RP23 rear shock, carbon fiber disc brakes and tubeless tires as the significant upgrades. I arrived home to see Jen in her full swing as mom/wife, bustling around the kitchen prepping Easter lunch. Chris brought her kids + her devil-eggs (that is spelled her way) that are always a part of holiday meals. After fighting off the meal sleepies we headed for the park for the Easter Egg Hunt! If you don’t live in AZ then you missed one of the most fantastically beautiful, low 70’s slightly breezy days around.

too much out there

I invested 2+ hours today trying to learn more about the internet & social media: facebook, twitter, tumblr, ping.fm, numba & more. Here was the payoff… a dad who customizes his kids’ lunch bags!
