Today = ran 7 miles & swam 3/4 a mile w/ Jerry & Chris… legs a bit tired but it is great to be back at the training. Jen got some rest from the last 10 days of being with strangers and acquaintances.
Yesterday = got home @ midnight from Johnson City, TN. Jen is right, Seattle is prettier in the winter than TN or MD.
Mon-Thurs. = went through a long examination process for starting a new church; still mulling over thoughts and feelings about the whole experience. We will write more on that in the next week or two.
Previous Sat & Sun = 2 very relaxing days in Orlando by ourselves.
Previous week = retreat w/ some of the Orchard group church planters, their wives and also Gene & Barbara Appel.
Thanks to Tara & Mom for all of the great help watching the boys!

this morning 3 of us got together for a a work out leading up to the march triathlon. let’s just say that I thought it went very well. being the oldest in our group by more than 6 years, I have been determined that I am not going to finish last out of our group come race day. we did 20 laps in the pool & 18 miles on the bike. i am sure that each of us can come up with a reason for not doing well on any given day, but my competitive nature has definitely rekindled itself. Chris is strong in the pool, Jason is strong on the bike and I am proud (yes proud) to say that i took them both. I don’t even mind rubbing it in a little… maybe it will motivate them to train harder.
hey guys, i will get your beer ready for you at the finish line since it looks like i am going to cross it first.
This picture was taken by my friend Rich out in front of the Kartchner Caverns and I just really like it. It was part of our “Tour de Tucson” over Christmas break. We are trying to get in a few “tourist” type things before we move in June so we went south for Old Tucson Studios, Tombstone and the Queen Mine Tour in Bisbee and then topped it off with touring the big room in the caverns. It was a fast & fun 3 days… plus we took the trailer which is always fun. Unless you really need to have some movie or real history, you should skip Tombstone & Old Tucson if you ever decide to go south —- they were really over rated. However, the kids liked the “comedy show” @ Old Tucson which included some gun fights. -Ryan

Quick update on the Triathlon training… getting closer to “no beer” for the training season, but had a good work out today none the less. 5 miles running + 20 laps in the pool & I felt great! the swimming is getting to the point where I am just bored which is evidently a good thing.
