clicking after 14 years

*** I am sure that this story will need correcting by Jen; I tend to get details a little off.***

One morning, about a week before Christmas I was standing in the kitchen pouring my second (or 3rd or 4th) cup of coffee. The taste was a bit burnt and it dawned on me that I really wanted a new, nice coffee pot – one like my Aunt Mary’s (she is a connoisseur) where the coffee is kept hot for long periods of time in a thermal carafe and never tastes burnt. I announced to Jen, “I just thought of something that you could get me for Christmas” but then just as that statement came out of my mouth I remembered that she had already gotten my present and it was sitting in a box above her desk. So I quickly tried to salvage the statement by saying it wasn’t that big of a deal. She whirled around and kindly asked, “what is it?” I REALLY didn’t want to spoil whatever gift she had come up with, so I tried my best to get out of telling her my ideal gift for Christmas and said, “ohh, nothing. It isn’t important”. She persisted, so I told her of my desire to have a new coffee pot, perhaps for my birthday in July (which is a time when I don’t drink as much coffee). At this point in the conversation I knew Jen would be weighing the gift she had gotten me against my new & late suggestion. Well, Christmas morning arrived and very much to my surprise & delight, I received a brand new coffee pot EXACTLY like what I had desired. She had researched it, purchased it weeks before and had it in the box on that day when I had made the pronouncement that I was sure had just ruined her gift. It very much seems like after 14 years of marriage we are clicking. Merry Christmas to me. The first pot of coffee this morning was GREAT!

wrapping up

We have had a great time in Cali for Christmas. Here are a few photos from our time @ the beach, Disney & with cousins. I’m sure more will follow soon…

please pray

I don’t know this family personally, but they are in desperate need of some serious prayer. Mark Lamberth was in a dirt bike accident a week ago & sustained severe brain injuries. Click on the button to read the details, then pray.
