Ryan & I saw Paul Potts in concert Thursday night and while we’ve determined that opera may not quite be our cup of tea, it still was a good experience and he was pretty amazing.

The week started out well. Sunday, the boys opened their Easter gifts from the Moore’s, then their baskets, we had a nice Easter ham lunch, and shared leftovers for dinner with some of Ryan’s family that came into town for a friend’s wedding - Uncle Brian, Aunt Zan, and their three (grown-up) boys – Jason, Matt, and Nate as well as Lia (a friend who is more like family). Brian and Zan live in Alaska, Jason and Nate live in Seattle with their families, and Matt is currently teaching English to college students in Korea. Lia is an actress and has a production company in LA. SO – we had a great time catching up with them all, since our visits are too few and far between. Thanks for visiting! It was so good to see you all (Jackson said next time you come he wants you to stay with us – and we agree!)
And Monday Ryan, Elias and I enjoyed a day trip with Brian and Zan to Wikieup (while the other boys were in school). We met up with Ryan’s mom, Kitty and her husband John for lunch. What in the world is in Wikieup, you ask? Not much really, but it’s about half way between Phoenix and Boulder City, NV (which is where Kitty & John live) and they have a favorite spot to stop there called Luchia’s. Let’s just say this place is interesting. They serve a decent combination of Mexican and American food and apparently have outrageous pie. (I haven’t tried it – Elias & I shared a perfect soft-serve vanilla cone instead - YUM!) They also have a small art gallery/store. The most interesting part though, is their collection of peacocks and the koi pond out back. Elias thoroughly enjoyed himself while feeding the animals and we enjoyed some more time visiting with family (as well as picking Brian & Zan’s brains on what it takes to raise three boys who like each other – they seem to have been pretty successful at this endeavor). What could top off the day better than beer and pizza at BJ’s? Good times.
